Pediatric Vision

I see children as young as two and three years old for eye exams. Even at that early age, there’s a lot we can do to make sure a child is seeing clearly and developing normal vision.

A major focus of pediatric eye care in recent years is myopia management — slowing down the progression of nearsightedness as a child grows. I use low-dose atropine drops or Essilor Stellest lenses, a specialized myopia-control lens, to help slow that yearly increase in prescription. This is especially important for children with a family history of high nearsightedness, or whose prescription is increasing significantly each year.
